Follow the Trails

Standard 5.7 addresses the need for students to be able to “map out” a Rashi into its various components in order to make sense of what it is saying. Just like a trail through a wooded forest may have colored markers to show a hiker where to go, this activity provides a color coding system to provide students with the skills for dividing a Rashi into its many parts. This is accomplished by addressing the various components of Rashi that need to be identified in order to follow the train of thought that Rashi presents to us. This coding system can then be used in three different activities in this download below.
